  1. Until I looked up the airship on fire, I hadn’t realized how many accidents there were with the hydrogen version.

    • Very dangerous , yes .
      Where the Santa Anita racetrack is now , the Army had a balloon facility during and after WWI , not blimps , but huge observation balloons . Now that you’ve commented , I will have to find out what gas they used .
