I loved this, Dan. My sister and I would walk to the movies (late 50’s, early 60’s) with one dollar. The movie was 35 cents, and popcorn was 15 cents. Times two = one dollar.
Perfect ! And a dollar wasn’t so easy to come by then . I used to sweet -talk the ticket girl at our local theater and she’d let me sneak in ; but I spent the 35 cents on a gallon of gas – back when the attendant not only pumped the gas but washed the windows and checked the oil . Once the attendant asked me sarcastically to maybe save up ” a whole dollar ” and then come in for gas . I told him quite sincerely that I never had a dollar .
I seem to remember these ads in a different world long ago and far, far away.
You must me “mature”.
I went past mature a long time ago!
Dan, thank you for posting this priceless ads-they are gems.
Thanks for the comment.

Yes, indeed! And, the attendant wore a uniform. Great story, Dan. Happy Thanksgiving.
Same to you , J.

I remember those gas prices. What does that say about me?
That you have a good memory ?
